Stefano Ferragamo is the life and soul of CALIGARIUS. This is a young brand, created only in 2004, but any expert eye will immediately understand how much experience is lying on the sidelines. Over the twenty years of his working life devoted to the family shoe business, Stefano has built up a thorough and valuable knowledge about anything connected with footwear, taking over from his father, one of the greatest technicians in the field. His initiative, combined with great interest and love for shoes, eventually led him, in his forties, to establish his own company and brand. The name he chose is the Latin word for what could perhaps be considered the first professional footwear manufacturer in Italy: in ancient Rome, the caligarius. Caligarius is based in Florence, Tuscany, a particularly qualified leather and shoe making district of Italy, where most of the leading brands have their collections developed and produced. An enthusiastic and dynamic personality, Stefano is passionately hands on with every facet of the business.
